We run a variety of different groups through the year. To keep in touch with which groups we are running we recommend that you subscribe to our Weekly Bulletin by emailing us at the clinic.
4-6 year olds
The programme is designed for girls who have an autism spectrum disorder and who experience difficulties with managing their anxiety. The programme comprises of two groups that run parallel to each other, one for parents and one for girls. The aim of each group is to help the children to recognise, label, and manage their anxiety. The programme was created by members of the Minds and Hearts team. Research studies examining this programme have been published in the peer reviews journals Early Child Development and Care and Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy.

Girls Group for 13-17 year olds
The programme is designed for teenage girls with Asperger’s Syndrome or ASD Level 1. The program explores self-identity and understanding of self as a young woman with a unique profile of abilities. Women with AS have often described that not knowing themselves has led to poor relationship and career choices, and ultimately, in some cases, depression. Understanding and celebrating self in terms of our strengths, difficulties and personality characteristics provides a strong foundation for success in adult life and a powerful antidote to depression and low self-esteem. Girls will also learn about different types of friendships and relationships with boys. The group provides a structured environment within which difference is embraced and celebrated.
