Dr Coralia MacHatch is Psychologist who works via Telehealth with children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan. She has a strong clinical focus in neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly Autism, with specific insight into presentations in girls and women, including those who may have been previously overlooked or misdiagnosed.
She works with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational difficulties. Coralia is known for her warm, attuned, and neuroaffirming approach, helping clients and families develop a clearer understanding of their experiences while building practical strategies for meaningful change.
Clinical Approach & Training
Coralia has completed:
- Master of Clinical Psychology, University of Queensland
- PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, Southern Cross University
She has trained and worked alongside leading clinicians in autism, including:
- Prof Tony Attwood
- Dr Michelle Garnett
Her therapeutic work integrates a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- EMDR Therapy
- Behavioural and neuroscience-informed approaches
Coralia also provides couple therapy, with particular expertise in supporting neurodiverse relationships. Her work focuses on improving communication, deepening mutual understanding, and addressing attachment and relational patterns.
Her approach is collaborative, formulation-driven, and tailored to each individual, taking into account their goals, developmental history, neurodevelopmental profile, and broader life context.
Clinical Experience
Coralia brings broad and diverse clinical experience, including:
- Supporting traumatised children in remote and regional Australia
- Working within multidisciplinary mental health and psychiatric teams
- Providing assessment and therapy for neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions
- Supporting individuals with neurodegenerative conditions (e.g., Parkinson’s disease)
- Working with chronic health conditions such as diabetes
She is experienced in working with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and applies a culturally responsive and respectful approach to care.
Parent, Family & Relationship Work
Coralia is an accredited provider of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program and supports parents in:
- Understanding child development and behaviour
- Navigating neurodivergence within the family
- Managing complex family dynamics and transitions
She also works with couples, particularly where neurodiversity is a factor, helping partners:
- Improve communication and reduce conflict
- Understand differences in thinking, emotion, and behaviour
- Strengthen connection and relationship functioning
