Emalyn Gooding

Emalyn is one of our Clinical Psychologists here who works with clients aged 15 and older, with a particular focus on supporting women, individuals affected by domestic violence, and those navigating PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and workplace challenges. She also has a growing interest in trauma.

Her journey into allied health began with curiosity about psychology.  Emalyn finds joy and privilege in hearing people’s stories and supporting their growth, resilience, and progress toward authentic lives. Her personal experience with dyslexia and its diagnosis sparked a deep appreciation for psychological assessment and the profound impact understanding and labels can have on a person’s journey.

Emalyn’s career includes diverse experiences, such as working at QuIHN, where she supported clients accessing needle and syringe programs, counselling, and GP services. She has also worked with youth aged 12–25 at headspace, running groups and addressing a variety of issues. Additionally, she has supported women of all ages who have experienced domestic violence through Uniting Care’s counselling services, emphasizing her belief in the importance of accessible mental health support.

Academically, Emalyn holds a master’s degree and also has clinical endorsement as a Board-Approved Supervisor, supporting the development of future clinicians in the field.
