Emalyn Gooding is a Clinical Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor.

Emalyn works with adolescents and adults aged 16 and older. She has a particular interest in supporting women’s mental health, including individuals experiencing Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), those impacted by domestic and family violence, and people navigating workplace stress and burnout. Her work is informed by principles of equity and empowerment, with careful attention to the ways that social, cultural, and systemic factors can shape psychological wellbeing.

Her clinical approach is grounded in collaborative, trauma-informed care. She draws on a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) integrating these approaches according to each individual’s needs, history, and broader life context.

Across her career, Emalyn has worked in a range of mental health settings including addiction services, youth and young adult support, and group-based therapeutic programs. She has extensive experience supporting women who have experienced family and domestic violence, and maintains a strong interest in trauma-informed practice and recovery. She values creating a therapeutic space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported to reconnect with their strengths and move toward meaningful and sustainable change.

Emalyn also has a strong interest in psychological assessment and the role it can play in fostering self-understanding and self-compassion. She believes that developing insight into one’s patterns, strengths, and experiences can be a powerful step toward living a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Academically, Emalyn holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Board-Approved Supervisor, providing supervision and professional support to psychologists and other mental health practitioners.
