James Gardener
I am a Speech and Language Pathologist and work with children and adults aged 8 and older. While I have extensive experience supporting school-aged children, I am increasingly enjoying my work with adults, finding this age group particularly rewarding.
I have a strong focus on autism, ADHD, social communication difficulties, language disorders, and literacy. My passion for speech therapy stems from my personal experience managing a genetic predisposition to stuttering. This journey inspired my commitment to helping others overcome fluency challenges and develop confidence in their communication. My work extends to areas such as anxiety, social interaction, self-advocacy, and equipping clients with practical skills for navigating everyday conversations and relationships.
Over the last 10 years, I have gained experience in both private and public sectors, including five years in London, where I served as the Team Lead for “Social Emotional & Mental Health Speech Therapists” in Greenwich. This role ignited my interest in integrating psychology and speech therapy, a practice I find incredibly impactful. Currently, I am pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Psychology to further enhance my holistic approach to communication challenges.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology with Honours and have achieved numerous clinical milestones throughout my career. These include helping clients improve communication in relationships, transforming passive communicators into assertive ones, achieving literacy goals, and significantly reducing social anxiety. My dedication to providing a practical, skills-based approach empowers individuals to overcome barriers and thrive in their personal and professional lives.
Through my compassionate and evidence-based practice, I remain deeply committed to supporting clients in achieving meaningful growth and communication success.
