Victoria (Vic) Lopez is a Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar who works with older children (10+), adolescents, adults, and couples. She supports people navigating a wide range of concerns, including neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, panic, trauma, relationship and attachment difficulties, body image concerns, burnout, and chronic stress or pain.

Vic particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent adults who have been diagnosed later in life. She understands that receiving a diagnosis in adulthood can bring a mix of relief, grief, clarity, and confusion all at once. Vic values helping clients make sense of their life experiences through this new lens, explore identity and self-worth, and build a way of living that feels more authentic.

Vic’s work is focused on helping people feel more at home within themselves. She supports clients to better understand their emotional patterns and increase their capacity to sit with difficult feelings. Together, you may explore how past experiences have shaped current relationship patterns, coping styles, and beliefs about yourself. Vic gently works with protective patterns that may once have been necessary but now feel limiting, creating space for personal growth, greater emotional resilience, and self-acceptance.

Vic’s approach is integrative and grounded in evidence-based practice. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and individuals (EFT), alongside psychodynamic principles. Therapy with Vic is collaborative, reflective, and tailored to your individual history, relationships, and goals.

Vic has completed additional training in CBT for eating disorders, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and the Masterson approach.

Vic has experience across both private practice and public health settings, providing individual and group therapy. She is committed to offering a therapeutic space that feels safe, reflective, and emotionally attuned, while gently supporting meaningful and lasting change.

Vic holds a Bachelor of Psychology (First Class Honours) from Macquarie University and a Master of Clinical Psychology (Distinction) from Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Vic’s honours research, supervised by Dr Lynlee Howard-Payne, explored public perceptions of females with autism and was presented at the Australian Conference of Undergraduate Research (ACUR) in 2022. Her Master’s thesis, supervised by Dr Michelle Garnett, examined the barriers women face in obtaining an autism diagnosis. Her academic work reflects a longstanding commitment to understanding how neurodivergence presents in women and how systems can better recognise and support them.

Vic was awarded the College of Clinical Psychologists Student Prize at QUT in 2024 for demonstrating high levels of clinical skill alongside the ability to design and conduct clinically relevant research during her Masters.
