Psychological Services at Minds & Hearts
Minds & Hearts has been internationally renowned for offering specialised psychological services for the past 20-years to neurodiverse children, adults and families. Our services include the assessment, formulation, diagnosis and treatment of psychological conditions that can often manifest as co-occurring conditions that impact the well-being of neurodiverse people such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychological trauma, and other maladaptive behavioural coping strategies.
Under the clinical supervision of the Clinic Directors who were trained by Professor Tony Attwood and Dr Michelle Garnett, our psychologists strive to operate with a deep understanding of both neurodiversity and healthy childhood development and attachment styles. We pride ourselves on our ability to clearly delineate two important features for our clients. Firstly, there are the important non-modifiable aspects of our client’s presentation associated with their neurodivergence which are to be embraced with compassion, accommodations and sometimes require skills training to improve functional outcomes. Secondly, there are the important modifiable aspects of our client’s presentation that produce psychological distress and impact functioning for which evidence-based psychological therapies can be applied to improve quality of life and functioning.
- Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
